Approach & Values

I respect the autonomy of every individual and provide therapy with this respect in mind, meaning I encourage those I work with to make changes in their life based on their true, personal desires. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques in therapy, assisting those I work with in recognizing the relationships between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and making changes in thinking and behaviors to reduce difficult feelings. I use questions in therapy to help explore thoughts and feelings and to help in developing new ways of thinking. In addition to using CBT techniques, I also use techniques from other therapeutic models and can adapt techniques to meet your individual needs in a way that feels comfortable and useful for you. I look forward to learning more about you and assisting you in creating the change you want to see in your life!

Education

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, as well as a Master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Mental Health Rehabilitation.

Expertise

I have worked with adult individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, psychosis, substance abuse, suicidal ideations, as well as childhood and sexual trauma. I also have experience working with individuals experiencing codependency, love addiction, as well as other interpersonal relationship issues.
