Reshawnda has over 12 years of experience in the field of mental health and has developed strong individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, and case management skills while working with families, foster youth, Severely Emotionally Disturbed children/adolescents within various mental health employment settings; such as Level 12 and 14 residential facilities, psychiatric hospitals, correctional facilities, and community based programs. Reshawnda utilizes various treatment approaches, but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Aggression Replacement Treatment, Crisis Intervention, Psychoeducation, Psychodynamic, Client Centered, Cognitive Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-focused, and Narrative Therapy while engaging her clients through various role play scenarios, communication, and behavior modification techniques throughout treatment. In addition to her counseling experience, while employed with El Dorado County Health and Human Services Department, she served as Patient’s Rights Advocate and LPS Conservatorship Investigator.
Before entering into the field of mental health, Reshawnda was a collegiate basketball player standout and was provided the opportunity to pursue her professional basketball career with the WNBA and US Virgin Island National Team. Reshawnda continues to find productive and sustainable ways to give back to the communities; she is the Founder of an education based nonprofit organization in Sacramento, California which offers academic, vocational, and athletic support to students within the communities ages 11-18 and youth girls basketball traveling AAU Team during the spring and summer seasons.
