Approach & Values
I tend to follow a combination of client-centered therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I tailor treatment to the individual client, as no client is ever the same. A few interventions I assist my clients with are recognizing negative thought patterns, helping clients realize that change is possible when we simply believe, and strengthening coping skills to reduce unwanted symptoms. I have an empathetic approach and usually do not follow agendas for therapy. I believe authentic and natural communication is the most effective in the client-therapist relationship.
Education
Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Loma Linda University, 2010-2012
Expertise
I work mostly with Couples, Adolescents, and adults of all ages. When working with couples I assist with building effective communication patterns, learning to set appropriate boundaries, and strengthening intimacy. When working with individuals we usually focus treatment on decreasing depressive and anxious symptoms, building self-esteem, increasing coping skills, and enhancing communication with others. The diagnoses I often provide treatment for but not limited to are Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
